Staying Sane During the Home Selling/Buying Process

Selling your home can take several weeks. Weeks that can be filled with fear, anxiety, stress, anger and sadness. But it doesn’t have to be that way. Right after we moved the initial necessities into the apartment we’re staying in (until we find our next home) one of the nurses that cares for our son commented on how “not stressed” I seemed. I laughed because I knew I was stressing out, but I did recognize I wasn’t freaking out or in a horrible mood 24/7, as many would expect to be.

So how have I been able to keep calm, cool and relatively collected? 60-Second Aroma Reset = Lavender, Frankincense, and Stress Away (all Young Living essential oils and blends). These are some of the essential oils I use for the Aroma Freedom Technique (AFT). We’ve created a “quick” version for situations that come up, but maybe don’t have a history or past associated. First, you focus on that stressful, upsetting, sad, fearful, whatever negative emotion that has come up and the situation that brought it to surface. Notice how it makes you feel (one word feeling word), where you feel that in your body, and just own it. Get worked up about it! Then, put a drop of each oil in the palm of your hand (I keep a bottle premixed with equal parts of each one, e.g. 3 drops of Lavender, 3 drops of Frankincense and 3 drops of Stress Away) and breath in deeply. Breathe it into those thoughts, that feeling and that part of your body. Now just watch what happens. In less than 60 seconds you will feel a positive shift. I have done this MANY times and it made the selling process much smoother for all involved. Try it…you’ll feel better on a more consistent basis.
